Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves is reportedly on the radar of the Detroit Pistons following a massive $179 million offer from the Brooklyn Nets, leaving his future in Los Angeles uncertain.

The New York Post reported Wednesday, June 19, 2026, that Detroit has emerged as a potential landing spot for the 28-year-old swingman shortly after Brooklyn extended the nine-figure proposal. Details of the Nets’ bid were not disclosed, but the figure would represent one of the richest free-agent offers of the offseason.

Reaves, who averaged double-digit scoring and shot better than 39 percent from three-point range last season, is coming off a breakout year with the Lakers. Los Angeles now faces a decision on whether to match the offer or negotiate an alternative deal to retain the Arkansas native.

The Pistons, rebuilding around a young core, would add proven perimeter scoring and playmaking by landing Reaves. No timetable has been given for when a decision on his next team will be finalized.
