The Atlanta Hawks and head coach Quin Snyder have agreed to a multiyear contract extension, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.

Specific length and financial terms were not disclosed, but the agreement secures the 57-year-old coach well beyond the original deal he signed when he took over the team late in the 2022-23 season.

Snyder was hired in February 2023 and coached the final 21 games of that campaign after the Hawks parted ways with Nate McMillan. Atlanta finished 41-41, earned the No. 8 seed through the Play-In Tournament and fell to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.

Before joining Atlanta, Snyder spent eight seasons with the Utah Jazz, guiding the franchise to six consecutive postseason appearances. His overall NBA head-coaching record stands at 386-292.

Atlanta enters this offseason looking to return to contention behind All-Star guard Trae Young and a roster overseen by general manager Landry Fields.
