The Boston Celtics are bringing back swingman RJ Luis on an Exhibit 10 contract after cutting him from a two-way deal earlier this week, according to reporter Noa Dalzell. The agreement was reached on October 17.
The team intends to waive the 6-foot-7 wing a second time, clearing a path for him to open the 2025-26 campaign with the Maine Celtics, Boston’s NBA G League affiliate. Under Exhibit 10 terms, Luis can collect a bonus of up to $85,300 if he remains with Maine for at least 60 days.
The 21-year-old earned Big East Player of the Year honors last season at St. John’s, averaging 18.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals across 35 games while shooting 43.9% from the field, 33.6% from three-point range and 74.7% at the foul line.
