Three NBA franchises completed their final preseason roster moves, releasing several players on non-guaranteed training-camp contracts as they prepare for opening night.
Utah Jazz
Utah waived center Mo Bamba, guard Pedro Bradshaw and guard Sean East II. All three had joined the club on Exhibit 10 agreements and are expected to report to the Salt Lake City Stars, where they can earn bonuses of up to $85,300 by staying at least 60 days.
Bamba, the No. 6 pick in the 2018 draft, has appeared with the Magic, Lakers, 76ers and Clippers, and signed a 10-day contract with the Pelicans last spring. Bradshaw recently played in Australia and Germany, while East spent last season in Canada and Romania. The Jazz now carry 15 guaranteed contracts and three two-way deals, meeting the regular-season limit.
Detroit Pistons
Detroit released center Charles Bediako, forward Dawson Garcia and guard Brice Williams. Like Utah’s cuts, all three were on Exhibit 10 pacts and are candidates to join the Motor City Cruise with similar bonus potential.
Bediako, a 7-footer from Alabama, averaged 9.9 points and 8.6 rebounds in the G League last season. Garcia, a five-year college player at Minnesota, posted 19.2 points per game as a senior. Williams, a 6-foot-3 guard out of Nebraska, averaged 20.4 points and hit 37 percent from three-point range. With the moves, the Pistons’ standard roster is set for opening night.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks cut guard Johnny Davis and center Jeremiah Tilmon. Davis, a Wisconsin native and former lottery selection, signed an Exhibit 10 deal earlier this week after spending last season with the Westchester Knicks in the G League following brief stints with the Wizards and Grizzlies.
Tilmon, a 6-10 center from Missouri, last played for the Shenzhen Leopards in China and is expected to join the Wisconsin Herd. Both players can earn Exhibit 10 bonuses if they remain with the Herd for at least 60 days.
