Golden State Warriors officials have spoken with the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns about a possible sign-and-trade centered on restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga, yet talks have not advanced, league sources told Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
The Warriors are reportedly dissatisfied with the proposals on the table, and no other team has entered discussions. With no franchise holding enough cap space to extend an offer sheet, signs point to Kuminga beginning the 2025-26 campaign in San Francisco.
Kuminga, 22, is eligible for a one-year qualifying offer that would keep him with Golden State before he reaches unrestricted free agency next summer. The forward has a strained relationship with head coach Steve Kerr and believes the organization has hindered his growth over the past four seasons, ESPN’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater previously reported.
Last season, the No. 7 pick in the 2021 draft averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 47 games, shooting 45.4 percent from the floor, 30.5 percent from three-point range and 66.8 percent at the line. His career averages with the Warriors stand at 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Golden State reached the 2025 Western Conference semifinals, falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games after edging the Houston Rockets in a seven-game first round. The Suns and Kings both missed the 2025 postseason.
