The Charlotte Hornets have waived forward DJ Rodman, the club announced on Tuesday, October 7.

Rodman, 24, had rejoined Charlotte’s training camp roster last week after signing and being waived earlier in September. The 6-foot-6 wing is the son of Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman and the older brother of NWSL standout Trinity Rodman.

Undrafted out of USC in 2024, Rodman spent the 2024/25 season in the NBA G League, splitting time between the Capital City Go-Go and the Maine Celtics. In 25 appearances with Maine, he averaged 6.8 points and 5.7 rebounds across 24.2 minutes per game. He also suited up for Charlotte’s summer-league squad in July.

Before turning pro, Rodman played five collegiate seasons at Washington State and USC, compiling career marks of 6.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 assist while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from three-point range over 143 NCAA contests.

If Rodman clears waivers, he will be eligible to join the Hornets’ G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm. By remaining with the Swarm for at least 60 days, he could earn a bonus of up to $85,300.
