The Washington Wizards adjusted their training-camp group on Tuesday, signing forward Leaky Black to an Exhibit 10 contract and waiving fellow camp invitee Jonathan Pierre.

Black, 25, entered the NBA as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina in 2023. He spent his rookie season on a two-way deal with the Charlotte Hornets, appearing in 26 games and averaging 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds across 10.9 minutes per night. Last season, the 6’6” wing played for Capital City Go-Go, the Wizards’ G League affiliate, where he recorded 7.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 26.7 minutes over 44 contests. A two-time All-Defensive Team selection in the ACC (2022, 2023), Black is primarily known for his work on the defensive end.

The Exhibit 10 agreement gives Washington the option to convert Black to a two-way contract or, if he is waived before opening night, allows him to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 should he spend at least 60 days with Capital City.

Pierre, also on an Exhibit 10, becomes an affiliate player and is expected to join the Go-Go, positioning him for the same potential $85,300 bonus.

With these moves, the Wizards remain at the preseason maximum of 21 players.
