Philadelphia, PA — Restricted free agent guard Quentin Grimes has signed his one-year $8.74 million qualifying offer with the Philadelphia 76ers, agent David Bauman told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Wednesday.

The agreement, finalized on the deadline for Grimes to act on the offer, ends a three-month stalemate between the 25-year-old and the organization. By accepting the deal, Grimes positions himself to enter unrestricted free agency in the summer of 2026 and gains the right to veto any trade during the 2025-26 season.

Philadelphia acquired Grimes from the Dallas Mavericks at February’s trade deadline in exchange for Caleb Martin. Before the move, the former first-round pick had spent parts of three and a half seasons with the New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, and Mavericks.

In 28 games (25 starts) with the injury-depleted 76ers, the 6-foot-5 wing expanded his role beyond traditional three-and-D duties, averaging 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals over 33.7 minutes per contest. He shot 46.9 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from three-point range, and 75.2 percent at the free-throw line during that stretch.

Grimes will re-enter the Sixers’ backcourt rotation under head coach Nick Nurse when training camp opens this fall.
