The Indiana Pacers have placed forward Samson Johnson on waivers, according to the NBA.com transactions log.
Johnson, 22, signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Indiana on Sept. 23, a contract that had reportedly been in place since late June. Waiving him now positions the Pacers to funnel the 6’10” rookie to their G League affiliate, the Noblesville Bloom, where he can receive a bonus of up to $85,300 if he stays at least 60 days.
The UConn product played four collegiate seasons, helping the Huskies claim back-to-back national titles in 2023 and 2024. As a senior, he averaged 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks over 19.4 minutes per game.
After going undrafted in June, Johnson appeared in two Summer League contests for Indiana, totaling six points and two blocks across 16 minutes.
