ESPN is close to finalizing a deal with LeBron James for a multi-part documentary modeled after “The Last Dance,” the 2020 series that chronicled Michael Jordan’s final season with the Chicago Bulls, according to the New York Post.
The report, published on July 30, 2026, says negotiations between the network and the four-time NBA champion are in advanced stages, though no contract has been signed.
If completed, the project would mark ESPN’s second high-profile, long-form basketball series in recent years and would give James, 41, an extensive platform to revisit key moments of his two-decade NBA career.
