The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed center Thomas Bryant to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, the club confirmed on Thursday. The move gives Cleveland 14 players on standard contracts as training camp opens next week in Florida.

Bryant, 28, is expected to provide depth behind starters Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. The 6-foot-10 veteran split the 2023-24 season between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, appearing in 66 games and averaging 6.5 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 50.8 percent from the field. He knocked down a career-best 48 three-pointers and played in 20 postseason contests during Indiana’s run to the NBA Finals.

Entering his ninth NBA campaign, Bryant owns career averages of 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds across 333 games with the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, Heat and Pacers. He won a championship with Denver in 2023 and was originally selected 42nd overall by the Utah Jazz in the 2017 draft after three seasons at Indiana University.

Prior to reaching terms with Cleveland, Bryant auditioned for the New York Knicks and reportedly impressed team officials before the Knicks chose to bolster their backcourt instead. He will wear No. 3 for the Cavaliers.
