Jaylen Brown Backs Potential LeBron James Move to Philadelphia

Boston forward Jaylen Brown is fully behind the Philadelphia 76ers’ pursuit of LeBron James, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
During an appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s podcast, Charania said Brown was “100 percent supportive” of Philadelphia’s efforts to add the 41-year-old superstar. The two players did not speak directly; instead, Brown relayed his message through James’ agent, Rich Paul.
“Hey, I want LeBron here,” Brown told Paul, Charania reported. “This is someone I want to play with.”
James and Brown are expected to connect personally as training camp approaches.

If James signs, he would join Brown, reigning MVP Joel Embiid, All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey and second-year wing VJ Edgecombe—forming one of the league’s most talent-rich lineups. Rival executives have questioned whether the 76ers will have enough shots and complementary pieces to satisfy all five standouts.
Charania said the word circulating inside the organization is “sacrifice,” noting that Brown and Maxey could each lead the offense on a given night while Embiid remains a dominant scoring option. Edgecombe will also need regular touches after an impressive rookie campaign.
At this stage of his career, James may shift further into a facilitator role. “In a lot of ways, he’s setting the table for everyone,” Charania said.
