The Golden State Warriors have been unable to meet the New Orleans Pelicans’ asking price for forward Trey Murphy III, halting trade discussions between the two teams, the New York Post reported Saturday, July 26, 2026.
According to the report, the Warriors approached New Orleans with a package for the 23-year-old wing but did not include the assets the Pelicans are seeking. With no acceptable proposal on the table, negotiations have stalled and no deal is considered imminent.
Murphy, noted for his perimeter shooting and defensive versatility, remains under contract with the Pelicans, who are believed to value him as a core piece of their roster. Golden State, meanwhile, is expected to keep exploring options to add wing depth before the upcoming season, the Post added.
