The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached a one-year contract agreement worth $2.8 million with EuroLeague standout Mario Hezonja, agent Michael Tellem of Excel Sports Management told ESPN’s Shams Charania on July 26, 2026.

Hezonja, 31, was selected fifth overall in the 2015 NBA Draft and last appeared in the league during the 2019-20 season. He has spent the past six years playing overseas, where he emerged as a key contributor in the EuroLeague.

According to Charania, both the Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors pursued the veteran wing before Hezonja opted for Cleveland. He is expected to fill an important role on the perimeter for a roster that reached the Eastern Conference Finals last season.

Cleveland had been linked to Hezonja throughout the later stages of free agency. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recently listed him among potential additions after LeBron James signed with Philadelphia.

No further contract details have been disclosed.
