Startup league Project B has appointed veteran coach Igor Kokoskov as its head of player development, according to the Associated Press.

The 54-year-old Serbian spent last season guiding Turkish powerhouse Anadolu Efes and brings more than two decades of NBA experience, largely as an assistant. His résumé includes one year at the helm of the Phoenix Suns, a run with the Serbian national team, and a championship campaign with Slovenia at EuroBasket 2017. Kokoskov’s most recent NBA stop came with the Atlanta Hawks in 2024/25.

He is the second high-profile hire for Project B in recent weeks. Former Hawks general manager Landry Fields was recently tapped to oversee the league’s men’s basketball division. Project B has already secured commitments from several prominent WNBA players and intends to recruit current and former NBA players, along with top international prospects, for its developmental program.

Second-Year Players to Watch

ESPN’s Ben Golliver highlighted 10 intriguing second-year players for the 2026/27 NBA season. Dylan Harper of the Spurs tops the list, while teammate Carter Bryant lands at No. 10. Other notable names include Joan Beringer of the Timberwolves (No. 4) and the 2025/26 Rookie of the Year top three—Cooper Flagg (Mavericks), Kon Knueppel (Hornets) and VJ Edgecombe (Sixers)—who fill out the top five spots.

NBA Veterans Heading to the EuroLeague

Several established NBA players are set to compete in the EuroLeague in 2026/27, reports Pijus Sapetka of BasketNews. Center Jonas Valanciunas headlines the group with his move to Zalgiris Kaunas. Forward Guerchon Yabusele is joining Panathinaikos, while veteran big man Dario Saric will suit up for Anadolu Efes.

Duarte Departs Unicaja

Unicaja and former NBA lottery pick Chris Duarte have mutually agreed to part ways, the Spanish club announced. The 29-year-old guard earned NBA All-Rookie honors with the Indiana Pacers in 2021/22 but saw his role diminish over four seasons, most recently with the Chicago Bulls in 2024/25. Spanish outlet Diario Sur reports Duarte is expected to sign with EuroLeague team Baskonia.
