Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jared McCain says the game-worn uniform he received from Lukas Doncic is now one of his most prized possessions.
Speaking to Cllc TV, the 21-year-old recalled a meeting earlier this season when the two players swapped jerseys. “I got Luka’s, which is kind of crazy,” McCain said. “He gave me the game-worn one, signed it and asked for mine back … I was like, ‘Why do you want mine?’”
The exchange occurred during the regular season, several weeks before Los Angeles and Oklahoma City met in the Western Conference semifinals. Doncic, sidelined for the entire 2026 postseason with an ankle injury, nonetheless remains one of McCain’s favorite players.
While Doncic watched from the bench, McCain gave the Lakers plenty of trouble in the second-round series. The rookie averaged 11.5 points and connected on 63.2 percent of his three-point attempts, scoring in double figures in three of the four games. His production helped the Thunder eliminate Los Angeles and advance to the conference finals.
Reports around the league indicate that Doncic backs the Lakers’ early offseason moves as the franchise works to reshape its roster for another run at the Western Conference’s elite, including Oklahoma City.
