Milwaukee, Wis. — Guard Tyler Herro said he was not surprised when the Miami Heat dealt him to the Milwaukee Bucks, noting he had “seen it coming” for months. The 24-year-old was shipped to his hometown club in the blockbuster move that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to South Florida.

“Miami is an organization that wants to win championships,” Herro told reporters, adding that acquiring a superstar such as Antetokounmpo gave the Heat “a fresh start” in their title pursuit.

Herro’s remarks came shortly before multiple outlets reported he and former teammate Bam Adebayo exchanged words during a workout in Las Vegas. The confrontation was reportedly triggered by social-media comments and alleged direct messages critical of Adebayo. Despite the trade, Herro said his family will continue to keep a residence in Miami during the offseason.

T’Wolves Sign Trey Lyles

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed veteran forward Trey Lyles to a one-year contract, the club announced. Lyles, 30, returns after a season with Real Madrid, where he helped the team reach the EuroLeague final while connecting on more than 44 percent of his three-point attempts.

Minnesota had been searching for additional front-court depth after agreeing to trade Julius Randle and Naz Reid earlier in the summer. According to The Athletic, the Lyles agreement does not alter the Wolves’ ongoing pursuit of free-agent forward LeBron James.

The Kentucky product has logged 650 NBA games with Utah, Denver, San Antonio, Detroit and Sacramento.

Osman Joins PAOK

Former Cleveland Cavaliers wing Cedi Osman has signed with Greek side PAOK after Panathinaikos accepted a buyout offer, Eurohoops reported. Previous speculation had linked the 29-year-old to a return to Turkish power Anadolu Efes, but that deal never materialized.

Osman averaged 12.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in EuroLeague play last season, continuing a productive run overseas since leaving the NBA.
