The Philadelphia 76ers have nearly exhausted their non-taxpayer mid-level exception, while the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks wrapped up multiyear agreements with role players on Monday.
Sixers leave $44K of MLE untouched
Philadelphia committed almost the entire $12.4 million exception to new arrivals Dean Wade and Anfernee Simons, leaving roughly $44,000 unused, according to Hoops Rumors. Although the balance cannot fund a contract today, it could cover a prorated minimum deal or a two-way conversion late in the regular season.
Wade’s contract is worth $38.7 million over four years and carries a $1.65 million partial guarantee in the final season. Simons secured a player option for 2027-28.
Wade spent his first seven NBA seasons with Cleveland before rejoining former Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey, who was hired as the 76ers’ head of basketball operations earlier this summer.
Celtics give Ron Harper Jr. four-year contract
The Celtics officially completed a revised agreement with guard Ron Harper Jr. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the deal now spans four years and is valued at approximately $13.7 million. The first two seasons are fully guaranteed, the third year is non-guaranteed and the fourth is a team option.
Harper, 26, earned rotation minutes late last season after starring with the G League’s Maine Celtics.
Knicks lock in Mohamed Diawara
New York finalized a four-year pact with forward Mohamed Diawara estimated at $11.2 million, Fred Katz of The Athletic reported. The first two seasons are guaranteed, and his initial salary sits above the veteran minimum.
The 21-year-old appeared in 69 games as a rookie, showing enough defensive versatility and three-point promise for the Knicks to secure his long-term rights.
