Milwaukee Bucks
The Giannis Antetokounmpo era in Milwaukee is officially over following last week’s blockbuster deal that sent the two-time MVP to Miami. In return, the Bucks secured guard Tyler Herro, forward Jaime Jaquez Jr., 7-footer Kelel Ware and rookie guard Kasparas Jakucionis, along with recent lottery selections Brayden Burries and Nate Ament.
Herro could become the primary scoring option if he remains on the roster, while Jaquez arrives after a career-best season in Miami. Ware is viewed as the highest-ceiling prospect in the package, and Jakucionis has already impressed this summer with Lithuania’s national team. The collection of young talent gives Milwaukee a new foundation as it begins to build a post-Giannis core.
Oklahoma City Thunder
With the Sacramento Kings waiving six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan on Monday, Oklahoma City has emerged as a possible landing spot. The Thunder boast a championship-caliber nucleus led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander but could use another proven scorer off the bench. DeRozan has been a full-time starter throughout his career, raising questions about his willingness to accept a reduced role, and general manager Sam Presti may be cautious after the recent Gordon Hayward experiment produced limited results. Still, Oklahoma City is monitoring the situation in case the price aligns with its roster strategy.
Washington Wizards
Washington’s acquisition of Deandre Ayton addressed a long-standing need for size and depth behind Anthony Davis and Alex Sarr, but the front office is not expected to stop there. With room under the luxury-tax threshold and access to the full mid-level exception, the Wizards are evaluating options for an additional ball-handler before training camp. Potential targets include Russell Westbrook, Gabe Vincent and Aaron Holiday, while veteran Anthony Gill remains a candidate to return because of his locker-room presence.
After a busy offseason, each organization continues to reshape its roster as training camps approach.
