Charlotte is finalizing a deal to obtain forward Dorian Finney-Smith and an undisclosed package of draft picks from the Houston Rockets, league sources told ESPN.
The move would add the 6-foot-7 Finney-Smith to a Hornets roster looking to bolster its wing depth. The Rockets are expected to receive players and/or considerations that were not immediately disclosed.
The agreement, which has not yet been made official by either team or the league office, was first reported Thursday. Financial terms and exact draft details remain unknown.
Finney-Smith, 30, averaged 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds last season while shooting 38% from three-point range. He is under contract through 2026 with a player option for the final year.
The NBA’s trade moratorium ends later this week, clearing the way for the transaction to be completed once all parties sign off.
