Virtus Bologna has reached a multiyear agreement with forward Bobi Klintman, the Italian club confirmed Monday in a press release.

The Swedish wing, selected 37th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2024 NBA Draft, appeared in 20 NBA games over two seasons, totaling 113 minutes. Detroit waived him during the final week of the 2025-26 regular season to create roster space for center Tolu Smith.

Klintman, 22, logged heavier minutes with the Motor City Cruise, Detroit’s G League affiliate. In 28 contests last season, he averaged 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals across 26.2 minutes, while shooting 46.6% from the field, 39.0% from three-point range and 73.0% at the foul line.

Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews had recently reported that several EuroLeague teams were monitoring Klintman and identified Virtus Bologna as a leading contender.

Virtus finished first in the 2025-26 Lega Basket Serie A regular season but exited in the semifinals against Reyer Venezia. The club posted a 14-24 record in EuroLeague play, falling short of postseason qualification.

Before his NBA stint, Klintman spent the 2023-24 campaign with the Cairns Taipans in Australia’s National Basketball League.
