The Denver Nuggets have reached a one-year agreement with forward/center Marvin Bagley III, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Tuesday. The former No. 2 overall pick selected Denver after weighing several free-agency offers.
Bagley, 27, is coming off an eight-season campaign split between Washington and Dallas. He appeared in 60 games—starting 12—and averaged 10.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 20.0 minutes. The 6-10 Duke product shot 64.1 percent on two-point attempts, connected on 46.2 percent of his 52 three-point tries, and converted 66.0 percent at the free-throw line.
The agreement is for the veteran’s minimum salary, according to Grant Afseth of Dallas Hoops Journal. Denver, currently projected to be a second-apron team, is limited to minimum contracts for external free agents unless it sheds salary later in the offseason.
Bagley will strengthen a frontcourt anchored by three-time MVP Nikola Jokić and power forward Aaron Gordon. Behind them, Denver received uneven production last season from Zeke Nnaji and DaRon Holmes, while backup center Jonas Valančiūnas holds only a $2 million partial guarantee on a $10 million deal for 2026-27. The Nuggets also drafted forward Trevon Brazile with the 35th pick last week, but Bagley brings additional experience and scoring punch to the reserve unit.
The one-year pact will become official once Bagley completes league-required physicals and the signing window opens.
