MIAMI — The Heat have reached a one-year, $6.5 million agreement with veteran wing Tim Hardaway Jr., according to Chris Haynes. Shams Charania reported contract terms. Hardaway, 34, averaged 13.5 points and hit 40.7 percent of his three-point attempts for Denver last season, finishing third in Sixth Man of the Year voting. His arrival provides Miami with additional perimeter scoring as the club reshapes the roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.

Timberwolves Retain Hyland

MINNEAPOLIS — Bones Hyland is returning to Minnesota on a one-year deal for the veteran minimum, per Jon Krawczynski and Darren Wolfson. The 24-year-old guard put up 8.5 points and 2.6 assists in 71 games last season, offering reliable bench production. The former first-round pick is expected to stay in the Timberwolves’ backcourt rotation.

Bucks Re-Sign Dieng

MILWAUKEE — Forward Ousmane Dieng has agreed to a three-year, $17.5 million contract with the Bucks, reports Shams Charania. Michael Scotto noted that the final season contains a team option. Milwaukee declined to extend a qualifying offer earlier in the offseason, allowing Dieng to become an unrestricted free agent before the sides settled on a longer deal at a lower annual salary. The 21-year-old averaged 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 30 games after arriving from Oklahoma City at last season’s trade deadline. With Giannis Antetokounmpo now in Miami, Dieng is positioned to compete for a larger role in 2024-25.
