San Antonio is set to lock up forward Julian Champagnie on a three-year deal worth $45 million, according to ESPN sources familiar with the negotiations.
The agreement, which averages $15 million annually, will keep Champagnie in a Spurs uniform through the duration of the contract once it becomes official.
Champagnie joined San Antonio on a two-way contract last season before earning a standard roster spot and is now positioned for a significant salary jump under the new pact.
The deal cannot be signed until the NBA’s free-agency moratorium ends, but both sides are expected to finalize terms at that time, the sources said.
