The Houston Rockets intend to present forward Tari Eason with an $8.01 million qualifying offer, according to league sources cited by Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Iko. The move will make Eason a restricted free agent at 5:00 p.m. CT on June 30, giving Houston the right to match any contract he signs elsewhere.

Eason, the 17th pick in the 2022 draft, appeared in 60 games last season, starting 34. He averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 25.8 minutes while shooting 41.6 percent from the field, 35.8 percent from three-point range and 77.6 percent at the free-throw line. His cap hold is projected at $17.03 million, though the figure has little impact with the Rockets already operating above the salary cap.

In Denver, the Nuggets plan to issue a $2.65 million qualifying offer to forward Spencer Jones, reports Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The 25-year-old undrafted wing carved out a rotation role amid injuries last season, averaging 5.5 points and 3.3 rebounds while connecting on 39.6 percent of his three-point attempts over 64 games (22.7 minutes per game). Denver expects to keep Jones, whose cap hold matches his qualifying offer.
