The Minnesota Timberwolves have secured restricted free agent Jaylen Clark on a three-year contract worth $10 million, according to Chris Hine of the Star Tribune.

Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic first reported that the 6’5” guard/forward would return to Minnesota. Clark’s projected three-year minimum salary stands at about $8.4 million, indicating the new deal dips slightly above that figure.

Clark, 24, owns full Bird rights after spending the past three seasons with the club that selected him 53rd overall in the 2023 draft. The former UCLA standout missed the entire 2023-24 campaign while recovering from a college Achilles tear but remained on a two-way contract. He debuted in 2024-25 and earned a promotion to a standard two-year minimum deal in February 2025.

Known for his versatile defense, Clark appeared in 68 games off the bench last season, averaging 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds across 13.1 minutes. He shot 43.4 percent from the field, 32.7 percent from three-point range and 65.7 percent at the free-throw line.

Minnesota’s roster is undergoing significant change after agreeing to send Naz Reid and multiple draft assets—including an unprotected 2033 first-round pick—to Charlotte for LaMelo Ball and Josh Green. A previously arranged deal involving Julius Randle and Brooklyn is expected to expand to include the Hornets.

Keeping Clark on an affordable multiyear contract provides additional wing depth as the Timberwolves integrate Ball’s playmaking alongside their returning core.
