The Sacramento Kings intend to sign 6-foot-3 guard B.J. Edwards to an Exhibit 10 agreement, Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com reported.
Edwards, 23, entered unrestricted free agency this week after going undrafted. The four-year college veteran spent his freshman season at Tennessee before transferring to SMU, where he played the last three years.
During his senior campaign with the Mustangs, Edwards averaged 12.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and an AAC-best 2.3 steals in 33.2 minutes over 28 games, shooting 47.4 percent from the field, 37.2 percent from three and 77.1 percent at the foul line.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed training-camp deal that can be converted to a two-way slot before opening night. If a player is waived and then spends at least 60 days with the club’s G League affiliate, he becomes eligible for a bonus of up to $91,000.
