The Charlotte Hornets have placed forward Tosan Evbuomwan on waivers, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Evbuomwan, 25, began the 2025-26 season on a two-way contract with the New York Knicks. After New York released him in January, he signed a two-way deal with Charlotte in February and finished the campaign on the Hornets’ roster.
The 6’8’’ forward has appeared in 50 NBA regular-season games across four teams. Minutes were scarce last year; he logged only eight total minutes in five outings for the Knicks and did not see action with the Hornets.
Although he scarcely played in the NBA, Evbuomwan was instrumental for the Greensboro Swarm, Charlotte’s G League affiliate. He earned G League Finals Most Valuable Player honors, posting 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in the championship-clinching game.
Evbuomwan’s two-way contract covered two seasons, but waiving him frees a two-way slot for Charlotte ahead of the new league year. The Hornets still hold big man PJ Hall on a two-year, two-way agreement, while Antonio Reeves, their third two-way player, is set to enter free agency. The club has also reached a reported two-way deal with undrafted rookie Michael Ajayi.
