The Cleveland Cavaliers have exercised their fourth-year team option on guard Craig Porter Jr., the organization announced Monday. The move keeps the 24-year-old under contract through the 2026-27 season.
Porter joined Cleveland as an undrafted free agent out of Wichita State in 2023 and quickly earned a role off the bench. Over 64 games last season, he averaged 4.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in nearly 18 minutes per contest, offering steady ballhandling, energy and defense for the second unit.
His most productive outing came in a November victory over Miami, where he tallied 19 points, nine assists, four rebounds, four blocks and three steals—becoming the first player in franchise history to post those numbers in a single game.
Since entering the league, Porter has appeared in 166 games for the Cavaliers, emerging as one of the team’s notable developmental success stories. Exercising the option ensures he will have at least one more season to build on that progress in Cleveland.
