The Phoenix Suns have issued qualifying offers to center Mark Williams and guard Koby Brea, designating both players as restricted free agents.
According to Spotrac’s Keith Smith, Williams received a one-year offer worth $9,615,393, while Brea was tendered another one-year, two-way contract. Each player can accept the offer, negotiate a new pact with Phoenix, or sign an offer sheet elsewhere when free agency opens on June 30. The Suns retain the right to match any external deal as long as the qualifying offers remain in place.
Williams’ 2025-26 campaign
Williams, acquired from the Charlotte Hornets in a draft-day trade last June, appeared in a career-high 60 games and started 55. The 7-footer averaged 11.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in 23.6 minutes, shooting 64.4 percent from the field and 77.1 percent at the foul line. A stress reaction in his left foot limited him to four games after March 3.
Injuries hampered the 22-year-old during his three seasons with Charlotte, where he logged 106 regular-season appearances. Despite his improved health this past year, reports indicate Phoenix is prioritizing new contracts for guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin before turning to Williams. The Suns also have young frontcourt options Khaman Maluach and Oso Ighodaro under team control.
Brea’s rookie season
Brea, 23, played 12 NBA games after being selected 41st overall in 2025. He spent most of the season with the G League’s Valley Suns, averaging 16.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists across 34 contests while posting a .398/.349/.842 shooting line.
The sharpshooter is one of two Phoenix players on expiring two-way deals. Forward Isaiah Livers, the other, is no longer eligible for a two-way slot because he has four years of NBA service. The Suns have until June 29 to decide whether to extend Livers a minimum-salary qualifying offer that would make him a restricted free agent.
