The NBA offseason shifts into high gear this week as several notable players and teams face looming contract-option decisions that could reshape the 2026 free-agency market.
According to ClutchPoints reporter Brett Siegel, the first key date is June 23. Washington Wizards guard Trae Young must decide on a $49 million player option, while Memphis Grizzlies wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has a $21.6 million player option due the same day.
The following afternoon, June 24, Washington’s D’Angelo Russell is scheduled to act on a $6 million player option.
The Los Angeles Clippers then face a June 26 deadline on a $16 million team option for forward Bogdan Bogdanovic.
Most decisions due by June 29
Many remaining player and team options must be finalized by June 29. Among the prominent names with decisions approaching are Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Austin Reaves, Brook Lopez, Al Horford and Isaiah Hartenstein.
Some choices appear straightforward, while others could significantly influence the pace and direction of free agency once the market officially opens in early July. Either way, the decision window is rapidly closing, and roster landscapes across the league may look very different within the next two weeks.
