Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves says several milestones in his young career still make him shake his head in disbelief.

Speaking with Franklyn Calle of SLAM, the undrafted Arkansas native singled out four experiences that top his personal highlight reel:

Team USA Appearance

Reaves called representing the United States at the FIBA World Cup “a pinch-me moment,” noting that suiting up for the national team was something he never imagined while fighting for an NBA roster spot.

Christmas Day Heroics

He pointed to a Christmas Day game in which he recorded a triple-double and knocked down the winning shot. “Hitting a game-winner on Christmas is special by itself,” Reaves said.

Playoff Debut in Memphis

Reaves’ first postseason game—Game 1 of the 2023 opening round against the Memphis Grizzlies—remains the most meaningful. He poured in 13 or 14 fourth-quarter points, helping Los Angeles steal the road victory while dozens of friends and family watched roughly 90 minutes from his hometown.

Mentorship From Rajon Rondo

The guard also credited former Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo as the first veteran to take him under his wing, providing guidance during his rookie season.

Reaves averaged career highs to start the current campaign and drew early All-Star buzz before an injury stalled his push. Now 27, he has become a key scorer alongside LeBron James and Luka Doncic and is expected to be central to the franchise’s future if he re-signs this summer.
