Sports broadcaster Chris Russo sharply criticized San Antonio rookie Victor Wembanyama after the 7-foot-4 center shoved Knicks guard Jalen Brunson during play, labeling the move “dirty” and “out of line.”
Russo’s remarks came during his program, where he said Wembanyama’s action had no place in the league and suggested officials should have intervened more forcefully. Russo did not hide his frustration, repeating that the shove crossed a line of acceptable physical play.
The incident, which drew immediate reactions from players and fans, has added another layer of scrutiny to Wembanyama’s first NBA season.
