Spanish powerhouse Barcelona is pursuing guard Brandon Goodwin after his standout season in China, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo and Encestando. The 30-year-old led the Shanghai Sharks to a Chinese Basketball Association championship, averaging 17.6 points and 7.0 assists in the regular season and earning CBA Finals MVP honors with 29 points and 9 assists per game. Goodwin has logged 133 NBA appearances, most recently playing 36 games for Cleveland in 2021/22.
In Canada, former NBA center Serge Ibaka endorsed Montreal as a future expansion site. Speaking at a promotional event, the veteran big man called the city “beautiful” and said local fans “love sport in general,” insisting Montreal deserves its own NBA franchise.
Ex-NBA forward Zaza Pachulia is turning to another sport. He and his wife, Tika, have joined the ownership group of Major League Volleyball’s newest club, which will be based in Northern California and debut in 2027, NBC Sports Bay Area reported.
Looking ahead to free agency, Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus offered several projections: Detroit re-signing center Jalen Duren for five years and $200 million (starting at $34.5 million), Atlanta keeping CJ McCollum on a two-year, $40 million pact with a team option, and Golden State luring LeBron James on a two-year, $30.8 million deal featuring a player option and starting at the $15 million non-taxpayer mid-level exception.
