Veteran guard Trevelin Queen is expected to continue his career in China with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to a report from Sportando’s Dario Skerletic.
Skerletic cited Chinese journalist Zhang Duo, who relayed the news via Twitter after noting that Chinese outlet Zhibo8 Sports already lists Queen on Guangdong’s roster page.
Queen, 28, appeared in a career-high 31 NBA games last season while on a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic. He averaged 4.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steal in 13.9 minutes per game, shooting 38.1% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range.
The 6-foot-6 wing became an unrestricted free agent earlier this summer when Orlando declined to extend a qualifying offer. With four years of NBA service time, he is no longer eligible for a two-way deal.
Queen previously played for the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers, and earned both regular-season and Finals MVP honors in the G League in 2022.
If the move is finalized, Queen would be the second player from last season’s two-way ranks to sign with Guangdong in recent weeks; former Brooklyn Net Yongxi “Jacky” Cui joined the club in late August.
