Alabama forward Amari Allen announced on Twitter that he is withdrawing from the 2026 NBA Draft and returning to the Crimson Tide for the 2026-27 season.

The 20-year-old shared a graphic reading “I’m back” along with a 55-second highlight clip to confirm his decision.

Allen earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors last season after averaging 11.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists across 32 games (24 starts). He shot 44.6% from the field and 34.1% from beyond the arc.

In April, the 6-foot-8 sophomore declared for the draft while preserving his NCAA eligibility. During this month’s draft combine, he measured just over 6-foot-5—significantly shorter than his listed height—which may have factored into his choice to return to school.

Before the combine, ESPN ranked Allen No. 29 on its top-100 prospect board, and ESPN’s Jeremy Woo projected him to Memphis with the 32nd pick. A stronger junior campaign could improve his standing for the 2027 draft.

According to Emilee Smarr of The Tuscaloosa News, Allen completed pre-draft workouts with the Grizzlies, Knicks, Thunder and Heat.
