Mikel Brown Jr. schedules visit with Utah
Louisville guard Mikel Brown Jr., projected to go in the lottery, is expected to work out for the Utah Jazz later this week, according to a post from Kevin O’Connor of Yahoo Sports. Brown said he has been fully cleared from the back injury that shortened his college season. He averaged 18.2 points and 4.7 assists across 21 games for the Cardinals.
Utah owns the No. 2 pick in the June draft, while ESPN slots Brown at No. 9 on its current big board. The workout gives the Jazz another look at a top-10 prospect and could serve as due diligence should the club explore trading down.
Warriors line up trio for Wednesday
The Golden State Warriors will bring in St. John’s forward Dillon Mitchell, Miami guard Tre Donaldson, and Vanderbilt forward Tyler Nickel on Wednesday, reports Adam Zagoria of NJ.com and Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area. All three are aiming to secure second-round consideration; Golden State holds the No. 54 selection.
Kings examine six prospects
Sacramento’s front office is set to evaluate Dominique Daniels (Cal Baptist), Kylan Boswell (Illinois), Elias Ralph (Pacific), Trevon Brazile (Arkansas), Baba Miller (Cincinnati), and Chauncey Wiggins (Florida State) on Wednesday, Sean Cunningham of KCRA tweets. Miller is No. 45 and Brazile is No. 48 in ESPN’s rankings. The Kings have two second-round picks at Nos. 34 and 45.
