New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson said he felt “humbled” after being voted Most Valuable Player of the series that sent the franchise to the NBA Finals on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Moments after the decisive win, Brunson credited his teammates and coaching staff for the honor, stressing that he does not “take it for granted.” The award capped a playoff round in which the 29-year-old led New York in scoring and assists.

The victory secured the Knicks’ first trip to the championship round since their last Finals appearance, and Brunson said the team is focused on finishing the job. “We still have more work to do,” he told reporters, adding that collective effort, rather than individual accolades, remains the priority.

The NBA Finals are scheduled to begin later this week, with New York opening on the road against the Western Conference champion.
