The New Orleans Pelicans have signed rookie free agent Jalon Moore to a training-camp deal, the NBA’s official transaction log on RealGM showed Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Moore, a 6’7″ forward, played two seasons at Georgia Tech (2021-23) before transferring to Oklahoma, where he spent the 2023-25 campaigns. As a senior with the Sooners in 2024-25, he started all 34 games and averaged 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 30.3 minutes while shooting 47.1% from the field, 38.1% from three-point range and 84.0% at the foul line.

Viewed as a potential second-round pick, Moore went undrafted in June after suffering a torn Achilles during a pre-draft workout with the San Antonio Spurs in the spring. At the time, his agent Mike Silverman told ESPN, “We’re truly heartbroken for Jalon. It’s time to revamp the NBA pre-draft process. Flying around the country to perform intense competitive workouts exposes players to risk of major injuries. No other pro sports league puts their draft prospects in this position.”

The injury is expected to sideline the 23-year-old for the entire 2025-26 season. New Orleans is likely to sign and waive Moore before opening night, a move that would secure his G League rights and keep him in the organization’s system for 2026-27.

With Moore aboard, the Pelicans now have a full 21-man offseason roster: 14 players on guaranteed contracts, four on Exhibit 9/10 agreements and three on two-way deals.
