Lakers, Warriors Face Long Odds in Bid for Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors plan to explore offseason trades for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, yet neither franchise is viewed as a frontrunner if the two-time MVP becomes available, ESPN’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported.
Charania told The Rich Eisen Show that the Lakers are unwilling to include guard Austin Reaves in any offer. Without Reaves, Los Angeles can propose only three future first-round picks and limited youthful talent, a package Charania believes the Bucks can surpass elsewhere.
Golden State owns more draft assets and could consider moving young players such as Brandin Podziemski or Moses Moody, Slater said on 95.7 The Game. Despite that flexibility, he labeled the Warriors “a long shot” and noted that team executives may prefer building a more balanced roster instead of adding another aging superstar.
Both clubs are expected to make preliminary calls, but assembling a deal that satisfies Milwaukee’s demands appears challenging for each front office.
