Pacific Division Roundup: Williams’ Market, Kings’ Prospects, Green’s Future, Clippers’ Choices

Several key offseason storylines are taking shape across the NBA’s Pacific Division.

Suns weigh price tag for Mark Williams

Phoenix must decide how far it is willing to go to keep starting center Mark Williams, who will be a restricted free agent in July. League observers believe another club could test the Suns’ resolve by offering $20–25 million per season. If that type of deal materializes, Phoenix could let the 24-year-old walk.

Should Williams attract a softer market, the 7-footer might either negotiate a new multiyear contract with the Suns or accept his $9.6 million qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent in 2027.

The decision is complicated by 2025 lottery pick Khaman Maluach. The 19-year-old is viewed internally as the organization’s center of the future, and one source told Sports360AZ the No. 10 overall pick could claim the starting job before the end of next season.

Kings host six-player workout

Sacramento brought in a group of draft hopefuls on Friday: Houston guard Emanuel Sharp, Louisville guard Isaac McKneely, Grand Canyon forward Jaden Henley, Auburn forward Keyshawn Hall, Xavier forward Tre Carroll, and Duke center Maliq Brown. None of the six prospects appears within ESPN’s top-70 rankings.

Uncertain market for Draymond Green

Draymond Green faces a $27.7 million player option and a shrinking external market. While other teams are showing less interest, sources around the league expect the veteran forward to remain with Golden State, either by opting in or by hammering out a new agreement with the Warriors.

Clippers eye major summer decisions

The Clippers must determine whether to trade or extend star forward Kawhi Leonard and how to handle restricted free agent Bennedict Mathurin. Cap analyst Keith Smith pegs a deal in the vicinity of $50 million over three years as a fair outcome for Mathurin.

All four situations are expected to gain clarity as the offseason calendar advances.
