Oklahoma City — The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder return to Paycom Center tonight for Game 2 of the Western Conference finals, with the Spurs looking to build on a marathon opening victory and the Thunder trying to even the best-of-seven series.
San Antonio edged Oklahoma City 122-115 in double overtime on Monday, a contest that, according to ESPN Research, became only the third Game 1 over the past 40 seasons to require multiple extra periods. The result moved the Spurs to 5-1 against the Thunder this season, counting regular-season and postseason meetings.
Despite the setback, Oklahoma City has not dropped back-to-back playoff games since the 2024 Western Conference semifinals, the series that ended its season two years ago. The league’s top regular-season team now needs a win to avoid ceding home-court advantage to San Antonio.
The Spurs are the fifth club in NBA history to take five of the first six games against that season’s No. 1 overall team. Each of the previous four teams in that position went on to win the corresponding playoff series.
Tipoff for Game 2 is set for Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
