Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic has restarted the stringent nutrition program that reshaped his body last summer, aiming to enter the 2026-27 season in peak condition, according to Dan Woike and Sam Amick of The Athletic.
The 27-year-old superstar, who suffered a torn left hamstring late in the 2025-26 regular season, is now pain-free and faces no restrictions during offseason training, the report said. Team officials expect Doncic to lead the Lakers’ preparations without limitation.
Doncic’s commitment to fitness became a headline last year when he dramatically improved his conditioning, which translated into what many considered the best season of his career before the injury. Despite his efforts, the guard was unable to return for the 2026 playoffs.
The Dallas Mavericks dealt Doncic to Los Angeles before last season, partly questioning his ability to maintain elite conditioning. The trade served as motivation, and Lakers staff have repeatedly praised his renewed discipline.
Speaking after the season finale, Doncic said life in Los Angeles now feels natural. “I feel very comfortable. I like living here, I like playing for the Lakers,” he told reporters. “It’s the best organization in the world. Just being a Laker means a lot to me.”
Los Angeles opens training camp this fall, and club officials believe a healthy, well-conditioned Doncic positions the roster for a strong 2026-27 campaign.
