Oklahoma City Thunder wing Jalen Williams said Friday that he has fully recovered from a left hamstring strain and expects to be available when the Western Conference Finals begin.
The 25-year-old provided the update in a vlog posted to his YouTube channel after participating in practice earlier in the day. Williams injured the hamstring on April 22 during Game 2 of the first-round series against the Phoenix Suns and missed the Thunder’s four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round.
“I haven’t had to rush back from my hamstring stuff at all,” Williams said. “I’m actually taking extra days now than what was even originally planned because we were up 3-0 [on the Lakers], so there was no point in going into this series and possibly hurting myself before we have to play the Timberwolves or the Spurs. I’m about to go into another series healthy.”
Williams appeared in just 33 regular-season games in 2025-26 after offseason wrist surgery and two right hamstring strains. He averaged 17.1 points, 5.5 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 28.4 minutes. Before the latest injury, he posted 20.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 61.5 percent from the field in the first two playoff games against Phoenix.
Rookie guard Ajay Mitchell handled secondary playmaking duties during Williams’ absence and is expected to remain in the rotation once the conference finals start. Oklahoma City’s opponent is still unknown; San Antonio holds a 3-2 edge over Minnesota heading into Friday’s Game 6.
