Greece secured the EuroBasket 2025 bronze medal on Sunday, edging Finland 92-89 in Riga after surviving a furious late push.

The Greeks controlled the contest for nearly 38 of the 40 minutes and never trailed, building a 17-point cushion with four minutes remaining. Finland closed the gap to one possession in the final seconds, but Greece converted key free throws to preserve the victory.

Giannis Antetokounmpo powered Greece with 30 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal in just under 31 minutes. The Milwaukee Bucks star hit two clutch foul shots in the closing moments to seal the outcome.

Naturalized guard Tyler Dorsey added 20 points on 5-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc, while Vasileios Toliopoulos provided 15 points after going scoreless in the semifinals against Turkey.

The bronze marks Antetokounmpo’s first international medal and Greece’s first EuroBasket podium finish since 2009, when it also claimed third place.

Finland was led by Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen, who posted 19 points and 10 rebounds. Elias Valtonen finished with 18 points, five rebounds and three steals, Mikael Jantunen tallied 13 points, six rebounds and seven assists, and Olivier Nkamhoua contributed 15 points and five boards.

Despite falling short, Finland’s fourth-place finish is the best in its EuroBasket history, highlighted by a round-of-16 upset of tournament favorite Serbia.

The championship game between Germany and Turkey is scheduled for later Sunday.
