Jordan Clarkson’s season with the New York Knicks appeared to be slipping away at the trade deadline, but the veteran guard never asked out. “Never,” Clarkson said when questioned about a possible move, according to James L. Edwards of The Athletic. “I only care about winning.”

That focus resurfaced in March, when Clarkson poured in 27 points in Utah. Since that night, he has provided the bench production New York lacked earlier in the year, delivering energy, scoring and an abrasive edge.

Depth decides Game 3

New York’s Game 3 victory was defined by reserves rather than stars. Clarkson, Landry Shamet, Mitchell Robinson and Jose Alvarado combined for 28 points and 14 rebounds, giving the Knicks a 2-1 series lead.

“That’s why you give different guys opportunities,” head coach Mike Brown said. “Your number can be called at any time.”

Shamet answered that call with 15 points in 26 minutes, remaining on the floor for the closing lineup. “You just stay ready,” he said. “We have one more.”

Bridges slows Maxey

While the bench handled the scoring, Mikal Bridges anchored the defense against Philadelphia guard Tyrese Maxey. Maxey is averaging fewer than 19 points in the series, shooting poorly from three-point range and piling up turnovers.

“That’s a tough task,” forward Josh Hart said of Bridges’ assignment. “He’s doing an amazing job.”

Injury report

OG Anunoby remains questionable with a hamstring strain. Miles McBride stepped into the rotation in Game 3, and lineups continue to shift based on Anunoby’s availability.

The Knicks now sit one win from advancing, with contributions coming from every corner of the roster.
