Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. said he believes the Brooklyn Nets unraveled because guard Cam Thomas keeps to himself, claiming the 22-year-old “doesn’t really talk to anybody.”
Porter’s remarks were published on May 7, 2026. He argued that Thomas’ quiet approach hurt team chemistry and ultimately contributed to Brooklyn’s disappointing season.
The Nets missed the playoffs after finishing below .500, while Thomas averaged career highs in scoring but remained largely silent off the court, according to Porter. “When your best scorer won’t communicate,” Porter said, “it’s tough for everyone else to connect.”
Neither Thomas nor the Nets have publicly responded to Porter’s comments.
