Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is pressing to be in uniform tonight for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the San Antonio Spurs, according to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Charania posted on X that Edwards took part in a substantial portion of the team’s morning shoot-around. A final decision on his availability will be made later today by both the 22-year-old guard and Minnesota’s medical staff.
The Timberwolves formally upgraded Edwards to “questionable” on Sunday. He sat out the last two contests of the first-round series versus the Denver Nuggets after hyperextending his left knee, an injury the club initially labeled as week-to-week. In Game 4 of that series, Edwards logged just 18 minutes and hit one field goal before exiting.
Lingering health issues restricted the former No. 1 overall pick to 61 games during the regular season, leaving him short of the league’s threshold for postseason honors.
