Jamahl Mosley’s position with the Orlando Magic remains tenuous after the club’s first-round playoff exit, according to Marc Stein. League sources continue to expect the organization to dismiss the third-year head coach.

Should Orlando move on, two names have surfaced. Billy Donovan, who initially received an offer from the Magic in 2007, has been linked to the post since before leaving Chicago. Michigan’s national-championship coach Dusty May is also on the radar, though the consensus is that he will stay in Ann Arbor. Separately, the New Orleans Pelicans are still thought to hold interest in bringing Mosley onto their own staff.

Nuggets Assess Next Steps

After their first-round defeat, the Denver Nuggets plan to keep head coach David Adelman, Stein reports. However, the front office is said to be open to trades that would boost athleticism and defensive versatility around two-time MVP Nikola Jokić.

Bulls Near Decision on Top Executive

Chicago is close to naming a new head of basketball operations. Timberwolves executive Matt Lloyd is widely viewed as the favorite, with Dennis Lindsey (Pistons), Bryson Graham (Hawks) and Dave Lewin (Celtics) joining him as finalists.

Mavericks Eye High-Profile Hire

Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont seeks a headline-making leader to replace interim structure left by Nico Harrison. Minnesota president Tim Connelly is the preferred candidate, but an interview appears unlikely. Bob Myers is also considered out of reach.

Former owner Mark Cuban has previously endorsed Detroit’s Lindsey, though Dallas has yet to request permission to interview him. Internal co-interim GMs Matt Riccardi and Michael Finley remain fallback options. Dumont has said he wants the position filled by mid-May.

Warriors and Kerr to Meet

Golden State expects to sit down with Steve Kerr as early as Monday to discuss his future. ESPN is actively recruiting the four-time championship coach for a return to broadcasting, but the Warriors have proceeded as though he will stay on the bench.
