Several clubs facing elimination on Friday will take the floor without key contributors, while others expect limited reinforcements.
Raptors rule out Brandon Ingram for Game 6
Toronto’s leading scorer, Brandon Ingram, will sit out Game 6 against Cleveland because of right heel inflammation. The All-Star forward was downgraded to doubtful earlier in the day after aggravating the injury during the second quarter of Game 5. He missed three late-season contests with the same issue and did not participate in Friday’s morning shootaround.
The Raptors are also without starting guard Immanuel Quickley, who is sidelined for the entire first-round series due to a hamstring strain. On a brighter note, fellow All-Star Scottie Barnes was removed from the injury report after taking a thigh hit in Game 5, and head coach Darko Rajaković said the forward “is feeling good.”
Pistons keep Tobias Harris, lose Kevin Huerter
In Orlando, Detroit will have starting forward Tobias Harris available despite a left ankle sprain, but reserve wing Kevin Huerter has been ruled out with a left adductor strain. Harris has scored at least 16 points in each of the first five games, while Huerter has played a limited role. The Pistons trail the Magic 3-2 in the first-round matchup.
Magic still without Franz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac
Franz Wagner will miss his second straight game because of a right calf strain. Head coach Jamahl Mosley said the 22-year-old did not participate in any portion of Friday’s shootaround, and Wagner, who wore a walking boot earlier in the week, indicated the team will proceed cautiously.
Veteran big man Jonathan Isaac remains out with a left knee sprain he suffered on March 12. According to Mosley, Isaac has yet to engage in contact work and is being monitored daily based on his response to treatment.
